About The Wise Quid

The Wise Quid exists because most money content in the UK is either 3,000 words before the point, or a comparison table pretending to be journalism. We do it differently: every guide starts with an Action Box — the two or three things actually worth doing today — and then explains the detail for those who want it.

Our editorial promise

We write in plain English for people in the UK. We cite primary sources — gov.uk, regulators, official statistics — and we date every guide so you know how fresh it is. We publish information and journalism, not financial advice, and we don't recommend specific financial products. When rules change, we update the guide or say clearly that it's out of date.

How we make money (the honest bit)

Right now: we don't. There are no ads and no affiliate links on this site. In future we may earn commission from links to non-regulated services like broadband or mobile deals — and if we ever do, we'll label them clearly and it will never change what we write or the order we recommend doing things. Trust is the whole business; we're not spending it on a commission.

Who's behind it

The Wise Quid is founded by Sean Turner. Get in touch — corrections and guide suggestions are always welcome.
